DAY 1: EXECUTIVE FORUM | Resilient Leadership: Securing Health in a Shifting World
Tuesday April 29, 2025 1:29pm - 5:30pm BST
Global health and access to medicine is being reshaped by a confluence of factors—political shifts, rising nationalism, and social transformations—challenging the ways in which humanitarian aid and development are approached. At the heart of this transformation is the question: How do we ensure that the most vulnerable populations still receive the care they need when global priorities are in flux and donor commitments are increasingly uncertain? Conversations will explore the evolving geopolitical terrain and opportunities to chart pathways to secure equitable access to health services in this unpredictable environment. With an eye on how political ideologies influence aid, the impact of social trends on public health, and the uncertain future of development funding, discussions will examine how the global community can adapt to these challenges while preserving the fundamental goal of improving health for all. As the world faces a host of interconnected crises, the need for collaboration, innovation, and strong leadership has never been more urgent. Together, the forum will explore how to expand the ideological base for humanitarian development and ensure that the global health agenda remains resilient and inclusive, despite growing global divisions.

Panel - Broadening the Base for Humanitarian Response & Development
Tuesday April 29, 2025 4:30pm - 5:30pm BST
In a world where elections and shifting political landscapes are reshaping global leadership and policy priorities, rising nationalism has led many countries to reevaluate their commitment to international aid. Against this backdrop, this Fireside Chat brings together leaders for a candid conversation on the future of humanitarian assistance. While many major donor nations have reduced their Official Development Assistance (ODA), a few stand out for increasing their contributions. This discussion will explore how we find common ground and fulfill a sustained commitment to global humanitarian priorities. Join us as these leaders explore the paths forward in the fight to safeguard humanitarian aid in an era of shifting ideologies.
