About me
Aleena brings over 10 years of experience in international development, specialising in the design, funding and management of programmes in various contexts across East and North Africa, and South and Southeast Asia. With expertise in thematic areas such as youth empowerment, sexual and reproductive health and rights, gender transformative programming, and health systems strengthening, she brings a comprehensive understanding of these critical issues. Believing in the power of partnerships and collaboration, Aleena leverages these approaches to ensure impactful social change.
Aleena is currently working as an Institutional Funding Senior Advisor at Sightsavers where she plays an instrumental role in building institutional partnerships and mobilising resources to scale impactful global programmes. She has previously worked at Girls Not Brides, Plan International UK, Amref Health Africa UK and Global One at the global level, and with Civil Society Human and Institutional Development Programme (CHIP) in Pakistan.
Aleena's dedication to advancing the rights and wellbeing of young people remains central to her vision for a more equitable and inclusive global health landscape.
