About me
Jieun Lee is a global health practitioner with over 15 years of experience in various domains of global health, with her recent works specializing in health systems strengthening (HSS) in Fragile and Conflict-Affected Settings (FCAS). Currently as the Senior Health Advisor at World Vision UK, she provides technical leadership for health projects worth £115 million across multiple countries, reaching 2.7 million vulnerable people in the fragile contexts.
Her expertise spans successfully bridging research, policy, and practice to improve healthcare delivery in challenging environments. Since 2022, Jieun led a consortium of nine UK-based international organizations to produce an influential policy brief on HSS in FCAS that was fully endorsed by the UK Foreign Commonwealth Development Office. She followed on to co-conduct a research with the REBUILD consortium and International Rescue Committee on operationalizing HSS in FCAS, presenting at the Health Systems Research 2024 conference, and is currently preparing a second FCDO roundtable to embed these principles into key strategies.
Jieun has also worked at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine as a researcher, and across diverse global health topics as a programme manager, technical advisor, and consultant in maternal and child health, climate and health, vaccines, humanitarian health, and WASH. She holds an MSc in Public Health and is proficient in Korean, English, and French.
